Little Pines

Bringing discovery back to this early education brand.

Branding & Website for Little Pines.

Background

In their fourth year of operation, Little Pines approached Shorthand & Hyphen to complete a brand identity and website overhaul. As one of the most in demand centres in the inner west area of Sydney due to their high standards — they had the happy problem where their brand wasn’t living up to how elevated their offering was.

Solution

As is often the case with childcare branding, the previous design had been created to be appealing to children — when the design should be aimed at the parents. We worked with Little Pines to develop a modern, scandinavian inspired moodboard representative of their new brand focus, that was child friendly, not childish. Build by Hyphen.

Before & After

Our solution features a new logo that hides a little pine tree inside a pencil, representing development and education. The symbol is sophisticated while remaining grounded with a fun sense of discovery that parents can share with their children.

Graphic System

The supporting graphic system took inspiration from children’s creative papercraft and collage. Roughly cut paper shapes of pine needles and branches can be used to create fun patterns.
