/03 Print Design
Crafting elegant books and publications that stand the test of time.
A well-designed book doesn’t just look good, but feels good, too. Behind that quiet feeling of satisfaction a reader experiences lies an invisible web of design elements: typography, images, grids, margins, print quality, paper stock, format, binding, and finishing.
OUR BOOK DESIGN PROCESS
Stage 1: BRIEFING
We begin by finding out about your specific needs and putting together a detailed brief. What is it? Who is it for? When do you need it? What does it need to do?
Stage 2: DESIGN
Once we have a completed brief, we move onto the design stage, laying out the supplied content into a beautiful product, ready for print.
Stage 3: PRODUCTION
Production on any print project requires a high-level of training and experience. We can work to pre-defined specifications, or manage all quotes and production from within the agency to keep your project streamlined and stress-free.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Do you design book covers?
Yes! We can create striking covers and jackets that convey a particular message, look or ‘feel’. We also provide a full internal layout design service, bringing readability to your book from cover to cover. Whether inside or out, we apply our expertise in layout, typography and art direction to produce elegant books that stand the test of time.
My book isn’t quite finished yet. Can we get started on a cover design?
We can begin with your book cover design even before your manuscript is finished. Once complete and we know your final page count, we can adjust the spine and binding accommodation accordingly.
What about cookbooks?
We love food, and we love designing books – it’s the perfect recipe for a cookbook! In addition to designing your cover and internal layout, we can provide creative direction and photography to bring your recipes to life on the page.
